Introduction Text

Your advisors, finally working from one plan

Most successful people have an accountant, a lawyer, an insurance broker and an investment account. What they don’t have is anyone making those pieces work together.

That’s my job.

I take a family office approach. I work with your existing accountant and lawyer, bring in specialists from inside RBC and externally where needed, and pull it all into one wealth strategy: financial plan, investments, tax, estate and risk. One plan. One point of contact.

Who I serve

Successful Canadians and their families, typically with $1 million or more in assets, who would rather spend their time on what matters most than on coordinating advisors.

Business owners

Owners of established companies, typically with 10 or more employees and $1 million or more in revenue, balancing the business, personal wealth and an eventual exit.

Incorporated professionals

Professionals who hold their earnings and investments inside a professional corporation and want the corporate and personal sides planned together.

Senior executives

High earners with demanding careers and little time to plan, who want their income, investments and tax working from one strategy.

Their families

Spouses, children and the next generation, so wealth is organized, tax-aware and ready to transition when the time comes.

If you own a business

Business owners face a second layer of decisions, and each one affects the others.

No exit plan

Sell, hand off to family or transition to staff? Until that’s decided, every other decision stalls. We map the options and work back from the one you choose.

Wealth trapped in the company

Retained earnings pile up in the operating company. With your accountant, we weigh salary, dividends and holding-company structures to draw money out efficiently.

The passive income grind

Too much investment income inside the corporation can reduce access to the small business rate: 9% federally, versus the 15% general rate. We invest with that limit in mind.

Keeping the capital gains exemption

For 2026 the indexed lifetime capital gains exemption is listed at $1.275 million for qualified small business shares, but shares must qualify at the time of sale. We plan ahead so excess passive assets don’t put that at risk.

Family and fairness

TOSI rules make splitting income with a spouse or children harder, and succession to children raises fairness questions with siblings outside the business. We plan for both.

No pension

You built the business instead of a pension, so retirement often depends on the sale. We build a retirement plan that is less dependent on a single transaction.

Integrated wealth strategy

This is the heart of what I do. Your financial plan, investments, tax, estate and insurance are designed as one strategy, not in silos, and reviewed together as your life and business change.

I start with the question that drives everything else: what do you want your business, your career or your money to do for you over the next ten years? The structure, the tax planning and the portfolio follow from that answer.

Financial planning

A written plan that connects your goals to the numbers: cash flow, retirement timing, business exit scenarios and the trade-offs between them, so big decisions are made with the full picture in view.

Time and discipline

Investment management

Disciplined, research-backed portfolios built around your plan, risk tolerance and time horizon, drawing on RBC’s strategists and research analysts. Your portfolio serves the plan, not the other way around.

Tax optimization

Working alongside your accountant, we look for ways to reduce tax across your personal and corporate holdings: income mix, account location, holding-company structures and the timing of withdrawals.

Legacy

Estate planning

Make sure your wealth goes where you intend, with as little cost and friction as possible. Together with your lawyer and RBC estate specialists, we address wills, powers of attorney, probate, deemed disposition and trusts.

Frequently asked questions

What is a family office approach?

One advisor coordinates your whole financial life (investments, financial planning, tax, estate and insurance), working with your accountant, your lawyer and RBC specialists so everything follows one plan.

Who do you typically work with?

Business owners (typically 10 or more employees and $1 million or more in revenue), incorporated professionals and senior executives, generally aged 35 to 65, with $1 million or more in assets.

Do I need to replace my accountant or lawyer?

No. I work with your existing advisors and bring in specialists from RBC or externally only where they’re needed.

Is there a separate fee for financial planning?

No. Planning and coordination are included in how I manage your portfolio.

How can a business owner take money out of a corporation efficiently?

It depends on your situation. The right mix of salary, dividends and holding-company structures differs for every owner, so we model the options together with your accountant.

Where are you located?

5140 Yonge Street, Suite 1100, North York, Ontario M2N 6L7.
